About the Publisher, Larry LaFata

I specialize in helping you achieve freedom from bad habits in your personal life and career.   

 

I am known for creative approaches and breakthrough solutions in behavioral change. Whether quitting smoking or in defining your career so you can make the most money possible while expressing your greatest value possible.

 

After graduating from a NJ University with a BA degree in business and marketing, in the 1980's I took advice from my friends and family to "get a good job with a big company. " After working my way up the ladder on Wall Street where I was making OK money,  but wasn't using all my talents, I said, "There's got to be a better way."

 

I started moonlighting my own sales and marketing consulting company in 1994, called Working by Design, LLC and have helped numerous businesses and individuals since then.

 

My research on positive career habits lead me to my discovery of rituals and identity as the core issue in quitting smoking, which I applied to writing Quit Smoking for Good, dedicated to my late Uncle Mike and late father in law, John Masiello..

 

The Mission is to help you make a "paradigm shift" in your smoking habit.

The way to quit smoking for good is not to just pop a nicotine pill for a few months. The odds are good - 65% good - that you will return to smoking.

 

The permanent way to quit is to "shift" your identity. From a smoker to a non-smoker. You become immersed in the new outlook, as if you have joined a new religion.

 

You are playing a new role, that of non-smoker. You simply assume the new identity of a non-smoker and all that goes with it:

  • you do everything a non-smoker would do
  • you think how a non-smoker would think
  • you act like a non-smoker
  • you perform the rituals of a non-smoker
  • you hold the beliefs of a non-smoker

 

In this way, you are shifting to being a non smoker, who is smoke free.
